About the Department

The Department of Education, Nakshalbari College started in the year 2008; offering a general course of study to the under-graduate students undertaking B.A. Degree Course under the affiliation of North Bengal University. A greater demand for the subject finally paved the way to introduce Honours Course in Education to the students from 2014 onwards. The Department has a team of dedicated teachers who provide guidance and support to the students to facilitate learning outcomes to its full potential.

The department conducts regular academic development programme for the students where the teachers from other colleges are invited to deliver a talk. The students are encouraged to present a paper in the Student Seminar organized by the department. Research methodology as a paper have to be compulsorily studied by the students of Honours Course and undertake a research project which fully orients them to have a clear understanding of research at the under-graduate level and prepare them for further research activities in the University, hereafter. Participation in other activities of the college like NSS, NCC, cultural programmes etc. are very much encouraged which helps in a holistic development of the students. Educational tours by the department are conducted in order to make learning more related to life.
