শুধু পাঠক লাইব্রেরিকে তৈরি করে  তা নয়, লাইব্রেরি পাঠককে তৈরি করে তোলে ।

The library is said to be the main point to interrelate teaching and learning process for gathering knowledge that fulfils all the objectives of an educational institution. Nakshalbari College initially had collected books for starting up the College Library in 2010 and gradually introduced Lending facilities. On June 2018, Library was shifted from old room to new building that has adequate space for storage and other services that are required for a College Library. The new building was essential for proper Library management including services related to lending and reference facilities with Small e-corner. Library undergoing continuous process of development. As much as possible, our College Library has tried to follow Dr. S. R. Ranganathan (Father of Library Science) whose fifth law says that “Library is a Growing Organism”. 

From the academic session 2022-23, we have taken necessary steps from administrative level for the further extension of space to increase capacity for readers sitting arrangement and development of Reference Section for the Library users. The library is housed inside the college building and it is located at the Ground floor. It has a seating capacity of about 70 readers’ together at a time. The Library has a generous collection of textbooks and reference books on all relevant subjects. The library collection is arranged according to call number (subject-wise), using DDC 23rd edition for Class No. and Cutter Table for Book No. 

In 2019, the Library has Introduced barcode based computerized circulation system with the help of ILMS AthenOS developed by Techno Developer group, Siliguri. Automation system is started with barcode that is used for issue and return of books, apart from it is linked to OPAC search. Lending service of the Library are fully Computerised. College also subscribes an Online Database viz. INFLIBNET- NLIST which provides full test access to almost 1,99,500+ e-books and 6500+ e-journals for the Faculties and students of the College. Daily Newspapers and employment magazines are kept in the library. There is a Library Sub-Committee to assist in necessary modifications and corrections and making the library facilities more learner-friendly.
