Courses of Study (I+I+I System)

The college offers three years B.A. (Honours & General) and B.Sc. (General) courses.

Duration of study

  • Part - I      : One Year
  • Part - II     : One Year
  • Part - III    : One Year

Subject for B.A. & B.SC. Part-I General course will be as follows:

  • Three elective subjects/group each carrying 150 marks consisting of three halves/papers
  • One Compulsory paper on Environmental Studies carrying 50 marks

No student shall be allowed to take more than one of the following as an Elective subject:
Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, and English

Subject for B.A. & B.SC. Part-II General course will be as follows:

  • Three elective subjects/group corresponding to Part-I examination consisting of three halves/papers carrying 150 marks each.
  • One Compulsory English paper carrying 50 marks

Subject for B.A. & B.SC. Part-III General course will be as follows:

  • Three elective subjects/group corresponding to Part-II examination carrying 100 marks each.
  • One Compulsory paper of any one of the following language carrying 50 marks: Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, Alternative English

No student shall be allowed to take more than one of the following as an Elective subject:
Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, and English

Part-I (500 Marks), Part-II (500 Marks) and Part-III (350 Marks) all together shall carry 1350 Marks for B.A. & B.SC. General 3 Years Degree Course Examination (I+I+I System).

Subject for B.A. Part-I Honours Examination shall consist of the following papers:

  • One Honours subject of 200 marks consisting two theory papers carrying 100 marks each
  • Two Elective subjects / group each carrying 150 marks consisting of three halves / papers
  • One Compulsory paper on Environmental Studies carrying 50 marks

No student shall be allowed to take more than one of the following as an Elective subject:
Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, and English

* A candidate pursuing Honours in Language Subject shall not be allowed to take up any language subject as Elective.

* A candidate pursuing Honours in a subject shall not be allowed to take up the same subject as Elective.

Subject for B.A. Part-II Honours course will be as follows:

  • One Honours subject corresponding to B.A. Part-I Examination consisting of two theory papers carrying 100 marks each.
  • Two elective subjects / group corresponding to B.A. Part-I Examination consisting of three halves / papers carrying 150 marks each.
  • One Compulsory English paper replacing MIL / Alternative Language carrying 50 Marks

Subject for B.A. Part-III Honours course will be as follows:

  • One Honours Subject corresponding to Part-II Examination consisting of four theory papers carrying 100 marks each.
  • One Compulsory paper of any one of the following languages carrying 50 marks: Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, Alternative English

Part-I (550 Marks), Part-II (550 Marks) and Part-III (450 Marks) all together shall carry 1550 Marks for B.A. Honours 3 Years Degree Course Examination (I+I+I System).
