Department of Political Science

About the Department

Department of Political Science has been introduced in the Academic Session 2011-12. Keeping the students' interest and demand in mind, University of North Bengal has given permission to start Honours course in Political Science from the Academic Session 2020-21 with an intake capacity of 15 seats. Presently there is one substantive teacher and two State Aided College Teachers in the department. The department regularly organises Add - On Courses and invited lectures to supplement students' learning and enable them to acquire a more holistic perspective. The students participate in the district level quiz, extempore speech, essay writing and youth parliament competition on a regular basis. The department conducts Remedial classes in each semester. Additional classes have also been organised for the slow learner students. Parents - teachers meeting has been arranged to get a proper feedback. Counseling of students has been provided to allow them to adopt the best practices that will pave the way to career success.
